Marketing Strategies in the Tourism Industry: Malaysia & Italy

Dr. Nur Suhaili Ramli is a Lecturer at the Department of Management, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Italy. She received her PhD in Management from the University of York, United Kingdom. She also has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Open University Malaysia as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Information Communication and Technology from the Universiti Teknologi Petronas. She has lived, worked, and studied in various countries such as Malaysia, New Zealand, Belgium, United States, the United Kingdom and Italy. Her publications cover diaspora and immigrant entrepreneurship, marketing strategies, business history, and global brands. Her research interest extends over the areas of marketing strategies, evolution of global brands, diaspora and immigrant entrepreneurship, comparative studies, and business history.

 

With her expertise and experiences in research, a seminar on Marketing Strategies in the Tourism Industry: Malaysia and Italy was organized on September 19, 2018 at the Research Management & Innovation Complex, University of Malaya. In this seminar, Dr. Nur Suhaili shares her latest research which compares the marketing strategies done by immigrant entrepreneurs in a developed country (Italy) with a developing country (Malaysia).  She also shares her hardships and setbacks in gaining information to the research done. The seminar ended with thoughtful questions thrown by the audience. Overall, it was an insightful seminar as the participants could gain greater knowledge about research and understand the purpose of doing research from a scholar’s perspective.
