BACKGROUND
In this 21st year of the 21st century of the Gregorian calendar, it is worth rethinking about civilization –on its past, present, and future. This program is a cultural dialogue which focuses on two cultures, namely the Malay Muslim and the Japanese (Shintoic) cultures. It delves into the questions on how these cultures influence its people’s values, identity, attitude and perspectives and eventually prepare them for the future.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To explore some aspects of Japanese and Malay culture and how the two civilisations grow in the future.
  2. To create mutual understanding between two cultures of the East especially on how the cultural and religious aspects intertwine with one other.
  3. To elaborate how Japanese and Malay cultures have influenced people’s values, identity, attitudes, and perspectives which could prepare them for the future
